Breakfast at home

Home Cooked Breakfast

Breakfasts must be one of the simplest meals to get right. So easy to eat healthily, and it’s hardly any effort to cook a delicious brekkie. Of course there is the option to have cereal or muesli, which can be yummy too if you put in a little bit of effort into shopping the right stuff.

Easter bunny sketch

I was given this bunny choc. It's quite big and I was quite excited to draw it. But I left it in the car for an hour. It was a hot day and poor bunny lost some of its curves!
Now that I have drawn it, it's time to eat it.

Happy Easter!

Apple tale

I used to buy apples from supermarkets - I did not enjoy apples. Then one day I had a slice at a farmers' market. It was delicious. Now I only buy apples direct from farmers and am loving them (the apples, not the farmers!).

I usually have one a day. But sometimes I have 2.

How many do you do a day?

Outdoor sketching–Queen Victoria market

It was fun drawing at the Queen Victoria market last weekend. I was fascinated with the small goods shops. There were cheeses, cured meat, olive oils and all sorts of goodies. It was crowded and there was not much standing room unfortunately, but I managed one sketch (below).

What do you draw when you are busy?

Here is another page from my sketchbook. I have been doing some small drawings during the week, since I have been busy. I was having coffee, and drew a few jars at the cafe (top). Then, back home, I drew some random items on the table. They were quick drawings and did not take up much time, but still gave me a little bit of practise.

Quick sketches

I keep forgetting about connecting to Paint Party Friday, so I thought I’d post early this week.

What happened to Friday! This is for Paint Party Friday – better late than never. Hope you are all having a nice weekend.

This is what happened on Friday:

Mac failing

The computer decided to take a break… Momentarily anyway, but long enough for me to doodle. Was a little bit concerned, but all was back to normal in no time.

Cupcake sketches

Cupcakes sketches

It’s been a very busy week, so I am very glad it’s Friday. Here’s a spread from my new sketchbook (from DottedSquare.com of course! I am using the one titled Pre-stained). My friend and I had a drawing session in a cupcake shop recently.

Happy Paint Party Friday, and have a good weekend.

A few pieces from the past/previous blog. I have enjoyed drawing these pieces on the computer. The application, Corel painter has many brushes that mimic traditional media. You can select traditional media such as watercolour, pastel, acrylics, oil paints and more. A great tool – I love it.
You can also achieve similar results using the iPad (these apps may have less features). There are many apps that can be downloaded inexpensively. My current favourite is Brushes… I will upload some iPad pieces soon.
