Greetings – welcome to my new blog.
Last week I was at the Botanical Gardens. As you can imagine, there was so much to draw – it was very exciting.
It was challenging drawing at the gardens, as there was a lot of details and textures. I have attempted to simplify and to capture the shapes and shades, with watercolour… Obviously there is lots of room for improvement – practice makes perfect.
Paint Party Friday – Have a great weekend.
Evelyn,

DeleteBeautiful study in blues and greens. I especially like the muted trees in the background.
ReplyDeleteThanks Faye. Muted trees add depth and distance. I am surprised how well it has come up actually - am happy with that :)

Love these trees, I have been struggling with trees and recently decided it was because I put in too much detail. This is stunning. :)

I think you did a wonderful job of simplifying. I have an awful lot of trouble with that. I get overwhelmed with all the detail and don't know what to put in and leave out.
ReplyDeleteThank Melissa, that's often the case with me too, so I am keen to practice. It's a challenge :). Ev
