Just doing what I love doing...
I just love doing creative stuff, whether it is designing and illustrating on the computer, or sketching, painting and working on sculptures.I cannot remember when I first decided that I must have art and design in my world, but I do remember loving my sketchbook from very early on. I used to carry it everywhere and draw pictures of women in pretty clothes! Today, art is very much a part of my everyday life, be it reading an art or design magazine, designing for a client, drawing, painting and getting involved in some crafty projects.
As a designer...
I am a pragmatic designer. As much as I love being arty, I believe that the purpose of design is to communicate. It must meet the brief and serve its purpose.
As an artist...
I enjoy making beautiful things that are pleasing to the eye. I am laborious and am a perfectionist. At art school, "overly aestheticised" were words used to describe my work. At the moment, I am enjoying sketching outdoors and keep a sketch journal. Most of the pieces you see on my blog are extracts from my sketch journal.
